Innocent and Twisted Alchemy's September 2015 Sub

Sent for review

Hi Everyone!

I've been super busy and haven't been able to post much lately, but that will be changing soon! I have lots of new things to post! The first thing being this month's Innocent and Twisted Subscription! The always lovely Linda sent me this month's sub to swatch and review and I'm so insanely glad she did, because I would have absolutely HATED to miss out on these colors!

This month's theme was Predator! I've never seen the movies, but I know about them. The colors seemed to stay within the duochrome range this time and Linda did an amazing job with these! As soon as I opened the package, I kept staring at Cold & Dirty. You'll see why in my swatches! All of these applied smoothly. No dragging, no patchiness, no fallout after application, just an all around great formula to work with! This month's other indies that were included were samples from Dark Matter Makeup, The Chequered Lily, Abyssal Realm and Spectrum Cosmetics

All swatches are done over ELF Glitter Primer with the exception of the Abyssal Realm sample; that is over bare skin.

Cold & Dirty- A bright green shift over a brownish purple base with lots of shifts depending on the angle of light.

Marked By The Kill- "Red-Orange that has an orange duochrome."

Unblooded Hunt- A grey base with a blue shift

Trophies of Man- A blackened base with a green shift and a few purple sparkles

Dark Matter Makeup- Xenomorph- This color was made exclusively for this month's theme. It's a darkened base with purple and gold glitter.

The Chequered Lily- The Ringmaster- "Velvety Brick Red with Strong Red Iridescence & Gold Sparkles."

Abyssal Realm- Awaken- A medium matte brown with a few white sparkles

Spectrum Cosmetics- Voodoo Lipgloss- "a beautiful dark blackened purple lip gloss, with LOTS of sparkle!"

The lipgloss was applied with a lip brush. I'm a bit heavy handed with my application. The lipgloss is nice, but it will smear. This color is absolutely beautiful, but I don't think I can personally pull this off. I applied the Abyssal Realm sample over bare skin because with matte eyeshadows, sometimes your primer can change the color a bit. It applied nicely over bare skin though. The Dark Matter Makeup sample came in a cute plastic vial. While I love the packaging, it's a bit of a pain to get any of the product out. Just a little thing that may matter to some!

Overall, I'm in LOVE with this month's sub! It was extremely well put together and the colors are phenomenal. I would love to see a whole collection of Alien vs. Predator. Hopefully that can be a thing in the future? :)

Notoriously Morbid's State of Fear Collection- Part 1

Hi Everyone!

Recently Notoriously Morbid released the first 5 shadows from a 50 color collection named State of Fear! This collection is "inspired by the legendary monsters creeping around each of your states, spaced out over the next ten months!". This collection will be permanent.

On to the swatches! All swatches are over ELF Glitter Primer.

Billiwhack- "Stalking through California, this goat-like creature is sure to send you screaming. A pale pink with golden shift. "

Fouke- "It won't be the elements that get you in the wilderness of Arkansas. The Fouke Monster is said to be over 7 feet tall and ape-like, so get your screams ready. A deep brown with intense red shift and sparkle."

Kushtaka- "Alaska calls to mind majestic, pristine wilderness, frigid temperatures and a shape-shifting monster straight out of your frozen nightmares. A cool sky blue with intense purple duo and shimmer. "Kushtaka" is very illuminating!" ** This does have a purple shift that was hard for me to capture on my camera, but it is there in person!**

Mogollon- "You wouldn't want to be caught alone in the Mongollon Rim in Arizona. You just might meet the hairy beast that's said to roam those woods. A leafy green with yellow gold shift."

Wolf Woman- "Beautiful and deadly and...a wolf? Some Mobile, AL residents swear they encountered this half woman, half wolf hybrid roaming the streets and scaring the living daylights out of everyone. A dusty brown with purple/green shift."

Wolf Woman had lots of shifts I tried my best to capture, but my photos do not do it justice, so here's a video from my Instagram!

I absolutely LOVE Billiwhack and Wolf Woman. I'll probably need to pick up full sizes of those soon! Which are your favorites? I'm so excited to see the next round of releases!

Notoriously Morbid- Daoine Sidhe Collection

Purchased

Hi Everyone!

I recently made another Notoriously Morbid order to pick up a few Vanishing Cabinet extras and for the Daoine Sidhe Collection! There are two sides to the Daoine Sidhe collection: Seelie Court and Unseelie Court. The Seelie Court Collection is the more happy and bright side and the Unseelie Court collection is a bit more dark. The Seelie Court contains a highlighter (Power of the Fae) and the Unseelie Court contains a blush (Daoine Sidhe).

All of these were swatched over Brija Cosmetic's Adhesive Eye Wax!

Seelie Court

Fight For Beauty- "An arctic blue with an intense magenta shift. "

Glorious Honor- "A soft lavender with green shift and lots of pink and purple shimmer."

Love Reigns- "A salmon pink with cool blue sheen."

Pay What You Owe- "A pale chartreuse with lots of blue sparkle."

Power of the Fae- "An ecru white with golden shimmer. *This highlight was part of the March Vanishing Cabinet."

Unseelie Court

Pure Passion- "A ruddy brown with gold, blue and green shimmer."

There Is No Honor- "A slate grey with purple tone and lots of gold/pink shimmer and green sparkle."

Chaos Reigns- "An eggplant purple with INSANE gold and green sparkle atop a slight red sheen."

Use Your Magick- "A shamrock green with green and silver shimmer."

Daoine Sidhe- "This blush is a warm, gingery pink in a matte finish, perfect for creating a healthy flush of color. "

I did have a little issue of patchiness with Fight For Beauty and Glorious Honor, but it could have been my base. All the rest applied like a dream! My favorites out of both collections are Glorious Honor, Love Reigns, Chaos Reigns and Use Your Magick! If you're looking for a sparkly and unique collection, this is it!

You can purchase this collection HERE!

Innocent+Twisted Alchemy- May 2015 Sub

Purchased

Hi!

I know I'm a little late posting this since it's almost the end of the month. Sorry! I was out of state visiting family for a week and just got back a few days ago. This is my first time trying out I+TA's sub! I only bought a trial for this month to see how I'd like it.

Guess what?

I LOVE IT! I think this sub is well worth your money. I opted to buy the deluxe sample trial subscription. I received 3 deluxe sized samples (mini jars) from I+TA, a mini jar from Femme Fatale Cosmetics, a sample baggie from Aromaleigh, a sample clamshell from Siren Song Cosmetics and a lipstick (in a mini jar) from Limnit Lipsticks. Oh! Also a 30% off code to I+TA's shop!

I'll have more information at the bottom of this post about pricing and where to buy!

I swatched all of these over NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skintone. Lip swatch is on bare lips.

Ripley- A medium to dark brown with a greenish silver shift.

Face Hugger- A medium gold with a gold, almost green in some lighting, sheen.

Drone- A dark green with a slight golden/green sheen.

Aromaleigh Cosmetics- Quarantine- A sort of tarnished brown with a golden sheen.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics- Xenomorph- A dark purple with a reddish copper shift.

Siren Song Cosmetics- The Outside World- A sky blue with a slight pink shift

Limnit Lipsticks- Extraterrestrial- "Warm-Toned Brown."
*This is a light layer over bare lips. In person, this tends to be a tiny bit darker*

While swatching, I did notice that Femme Fatale's Xenomorph (I+TA sub exclusive) was very similar to Femme Fatale's Night in Werewolf Woods. I did a quick swatch to show their similarities.

Xenomorph on the left, Night in Werewolf Woods on the right.

Night in Werewolf Woods seems to have more of a copper shift, but they are pretty close. I like them both and I only have a sample of Night in Werewolf Woods, so I'm okay with it! :)

All of these colors are exclusive except The Outside World and Extraterrestrial. I believe any overstock of Ripley, Face Hugger and Drone will be sold on Innocent+Twisted Alchemy's website.

You can purchase your I+TA subscription HERE! Deluxe Samples are $12 a month within the US and $16 for international (these both include shipping). Full Sizes are $18 a month for US and $22 a month for international (both include shipping).

Feel free to check out any of the stores listed below!

Aromaleigh- Anthousai Collection Swatches

Press Samples

Hi Everyone!

Recently Aromaleigh Cosmetics released their Anthousai collection which is based off of  "the Greek Flower Nymphs, and stories of their metamorphoses into flowers and plants. Each shade is inspired by a particular nymph, and a beautiful Pre-Raphaelite painting."

This collection features the new eyeshadow formula. If you haven't tried Aromaleigh's newest formula, I highly suggest doing so. It is buttery smooth and applies and blends like an absolute dream! There's no sheerness or fallout that I've experienced. The new formula is also amazing over bare skin, if you prefer wearing your eyeshadows that way!

All are swatched over NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skintone.

Klytie- "a lustrous blue violet with golden and copper shift"

Phyllis- "a pale creamy yellow with a strong copper to rose shift"
*The rose shift is extremely strong in person. My camera doesn't capture it well.*

Rhodeia- "a lustrous rose with blue and violet tones"

Khloris- "a lustrous mint green with a golden glow"

Syrinx- "a gorgeous, chromatic brown with gold and green shifts"

Lotis- "a lustrous peachy pink"

Ianthe- "a lustrous violet with a strong silvery green shift"

Philyra-"a soft buff shade with strong yellowish green duochrome"

Leiriope- "lustrous yellow gold with a green to aqua shift"

Anemone- "a muted red with a strong green to gold shift"

I really loved this collection. All of the colors are so soft and can be worn any time! The shifts in these are much stronger in person, especially Ianthe, Khloris, Leiriope, Philyra, Phyllis and Syrinx. My camera just can't capture all of their shifts! I keep reaching for Ianthe, Leiriope, Philyra and Syrinx. Those have to be my absolute favorites out of them all!

You can purchase all of these or your favorites HERE!
